ART and tea

I’m a firm believer in bringing art into our daily lives. The daily ritual of tea allows for many such opportunities. I’d like to introduce everyone to a new teapot that has been designed by one of our T Ching readers, Joey Roth. A writer from Snarfd said it best. ” If Apple did housewares, this might be the iPot.”
I love the ultra modern reinterpretation of the traditional tea pot. I love that it’s fully recyclable as it’s made entirely of stainless steel and glass. My expectation is that it will be a pleasure to use each and every time. That’s what I mean about bringing art into your daily life. Just looking at this elegant tea pot causes one to smile. I’ll bet the farm that the actual use of it, picking it up, touching it and pouring this ancient beverage from it - all will enhance the pleasure and enjoyment of having a cup of tea. I’m told Joey has designed matching cups to complement the pot. Who could ask for anything more?

Michelle,
Thanks for sharing the picture. I actually saw this in a catalog once (I can’t remember where), may have been an online one and at the time quite frankly I was in seminary full time and was counting pennies. I have rather eclectic tastes and I too like to have some forms or art around me in my daily life. In my case, I decided upon some Japanese pottery for my green teas that I ordered from Japan via eBay but to each his own. It does look like a nice addition to someone who has an ultra modern style of decor in their house. Usually the places to where I am sent have shall we say an older, more traditional style of lots of beautiful old woods and the like but as I said being eclectic in my tastes, I believe there is room for both styles in the same house. Hopefully one style being the dominant with the other not “clashing” too much with the decoration scheme. If you know of a place (such as online because where I live there probably isn’t much chance of finding this unless IKEA has it, new store opened last month about 80 miles away) that has this, I’d be interested in considering it again. You can just leave the weblink in a comment that you might leave here by doing a copy and paste of the site from your browser and then we too may be able to see where it is available. Again, thanks for the picture and it’s nice to see the pic of the designer too.
Cheers,
Fr. Patrick
