Tea: a treat for all of our senses

I love the complex sensory experience of a cup of tea. Opening the lid of the canister that stores my Gong Pin Yu Luo, the scent of jasmine uplifts me. As I remove each magnificent rolled leaf, I marvel at the artistry that crafted it. I pour hot water over the leaves into a small glass tea pot, enough just for me. The two minutes of brewing slip away as I stand over the pot and enjoy watching the leaves unfurling. I’m reminded of the phrase “agony of the leaf,” which is used to express the drama of the opening of the tea leaves. I see no pain here, only the dance of the leaves as they unwind effortlessly to offer their potent brew to those who drink their bounty. Pouring the liquor into my favorite cup, I smile as I inhale the fragrence. Taking that first satisfying sip, I can almost feel the powerful antioxidants nourishing my body and the experience of the moment nourishing my soul.

I personally love this tea. It is a beauty in itself. Chinese culture and fineness is reflected in it.
