W+3T = the perfect cup of tea! - part 1

W= water
T1 = premium whole leaf tea
T2= temperature
T3=time.

Let's begin with water. A cup of tea is 98.5% water. It's very important to be aware of the quality of your water. Some communities have excellent water while others are poor. If the taste of the water isn't good, you'll never be able to brew a delicious cup of tea. Chlorine is one of the problematic chemical additives to public water systems. Water that is heavy in certain minerals can also negatively impact the taste of tea. High end tea shops are installing full water treatment equipment to ensure the perfect brew. We'll be talking with David Beeman, Founder of Cirqua - Customized Water in the weeks to come. They provide the filtration system for Starbucks, Peet's Coffee and Tea, Borders Books, Safeway and thousands of others. If you've ever wondered why the tea you enjoy at your favorite tea shop never tastes quite as good when you buy the leaves from the shop and bring it home to brew yourself, that's probably why. Stay tuned this week to find out about the rest of the formula.

    Lov it….What a great formula to always remember how to prepare your tea. Does anyone know who came up with the formula? Its easy to forget when you’re in a rush, but obviously key to makin the most of each cup you drink.
