Cheryl Beck

When Cheryl gets an idea in her head, look out! Some people just talk of doing big things; Cheryl does them. She first got the inspiration for Tea Party Angels from reading "Three Cups of Tea" by Greg Mortenson and then was further motivated by reading "Leaving Microsoft to Change the World" by John Wood. Both men were doing extraordinary things to help educate girls around the world - Cheryl wanted to help. Imagine mothers and daughters hosting tea parties across the country to raise money for girls' education. Such a simple idea, but it wasn't being done on a large scale. Cheryl quickly recruited the right women and organizations to help her make Tea Party Angels a reality. Tea Party Angels is a tribute to the memory of her grandmothers Beck and Jackson - two completely different, yet amazing, women whose tea cups Cheryl keeps visible to her every day for inspiration. Cheryl’s background includes working in Sales, Marketing, and Events for many Fortune 500 companies and startups. She has served on several non-profit boards, including Resources for Children's Health, and founded a 501(c)(3) in Philadelphia called Friends United in Need Network (FUNN) that raised thousands of dollars for non-profits. She graduated from Bucknell University and received an MBA in Marketing from Drexel University. Cheryl currently resides in Manhattan and spends a much of her free time traveling the world.
