“The burden of responsibility is placed on the wrong people: the non-organic companies should be the ones required to list on their tea packages all the pesticides, herbicides, and chemicals they use. The organic, sustainable growers shouldn’t be the ones who, in addition to making the effort of doing the right thing, also have to jump through hoops to prove they are doing it correctly.”
~ David Lee Hoffman, tea expert

The F.D.A. and Big Pharma do a wonderful job protecting their financial interests don’t they?? OOPS!! did I say that. Tea and all the natural healing herbs that contain wonderful components, work totally against government created regulations to stifle the above, and promote “big bucks” at any cost, including our health. (Stupid is as Stupid does)….PJF
Yes, wouldn’t it be great to require food/beverage growers to identify chemical treatments!
But it is also appropriate to create and monitor standards to ensure that claims of organically grown products are truly what their customers can expect when the term “Organic” is applied. Perhaps there’s room for a tiered system where products are scored and rated based on actual growing conditions.
the organic certifying agencies have created a package that says value for money. the better you pay the faster your estate or property turns into organic. the fatter you pay the better they certify you. it is a game of corruption and lies that is being afforded only by the upper strata tea gardens as they have enough money to spare.
Ankit, that is disturbing but not surprising…
