We’re always happy to report on the ever growing body of evidence that confirms the health benefits of tea. I was delighted to get this heads up from one of our T Ching community members, Paul Fiske, who was thoughtful enough to pass it along for everyone’s benefit.
“EGCG acutely improves endothelial function in humans with coronary artery disease, and may account for a portion of the beneficial effects of flavonoid-rich food on endothelial function,” wrote the authors in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition.Vol.26 #2, Pg 95-102.
I’m sure most of us can remember the old adage “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”. Although this idea is a bit over stated, it does point to an important factor about the beneficial, natural nutrients we can put into our bodies. I’d like to propose we adapt that concept to TEA. Dr. John Weisburger has previously shared with us that he feels green tea has more polyphenols than fruits and vegetables. So let’s all make that health commitment……DRINK TEA EVERYDAY. Now imagine the sound of tea cups clincking……….Here’s to your health.

A follow-up to this would be: I also read somewhere that Yerba Mate’ has more polyphenols than White or Green Teas. Is this correct?? all of you who are so “steeped” in this knowledge…PJF
