Interested in Indian culture and Indian tea? We have an educational adventure for you!

Lotus Tea House offers ongoing tea tours — from 7 to 10 days — throughout the major tea growing areas of India. You’ll learn from tea growers about the journey of tea from cultivation and consumption. Participants will have direct interaction with the labourers, planters, manufacturers and traders of Indian tea. You’ll also practice developing your tea palate, and distinguisning among the varieties of tea grown in India. Throughout the tour, you will also get a taste of Indian culture and history.

Costs vary depending on duration and location of the tour you choose. To get all the details about tea tour schedules, availability and pricing, feel free to email me or contact John Macpherson at info@lotusteahouse.com.

We look forward to learning with you!

    Hi, Grace.

Thanks for the inquiry about the tours. If you visit our “Tours” page at you’ll find preliminary information on the two tours we offer.

If I might inquire, where are you located?
If you can tell me your location, and which tour you’re interested in, I can get an estimated RT Airfare cost for you.

As it says in the blurb here, we are co-ordinating these tours thru Lochan Tea Ltd. - a major distributor based in Siliguri, Darjeeling. The tours cove Gardens not only in Darjeeling, but also Bihar, Nepal, Sikkim, Nilgiri and Assam (exact gardens covered will vary by tour and conditions at the Garden at the time of the tour).

The tour feature interactions with Laborours, Planters, Managers and other Tea-Industry people, as well as tasting sessions, sight-seeing and meetings with various commercial and quasi-governmental agencies (ie: Local Tea Boards as well as the Tea Board of India) for informational / educational sessions.

If you have specific questions regarding the tours, please feel free to ask - either here or by e-mail to: John@LotusTeaHouse.com or Tours@LotusTeaHouse.com We’ll be happy to provide whatever information you need.
